Baby’s First Backpacking Trip

It was our anniversary, and we’d originally planned to leave our daughter with family so we could spend the night at the base of peak we were to climb the next day. Actually it’s the mountain engraved on our wedding rings! For various reasons, we opted out of that adventure, but kept our backcountry permit for a campsite in Rocky Mountain National Park and took our 18 month old daughter on her first backcountry trip. We had a lovely time splashing in puddles, throwing rocks in the lake and embracing the change of life’s adventures.
